Michelle Thibodeau

Currently, Michelle is finishing up the final stages of her Debut Pop Album, looking forward to the release fall 2018! She can’t wait to debut this new, Pop sound, influenced by her favourite pop divas like Beyoncé and Demi Lovato!

Who is Michelle Thibodeau?

Michelle is a vibrant 25 year-old Toronto-based Pop Singer-Songwriter, originally from Moncton, New Brunswick.

I first picked up a guitar and started songwriting when I was 14. I don’t think I’ve put it down since – except to occasionally play the piano.

Michelle packed her bags and moved from New Brunswick at age 18 to attend the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC where she studied singing, acting and dancing.

Immediately after graduating, she auditioned for “Over the Rainbow” a CBC Talent Search to find “Dorothy” for Mirvish’s Toronto production of “Wizard of Oz”. After several rounds of competition, Michelle was flown as a finalist down to Barbados to perform for the legendary composer, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

After that experience, I knew Toronto was the place I wanted to be to build my music career.

Since moving to the big city, Michelle has released 3 singles “Let It Move You” (2014), “Hey Hitchhiker” (2015) and “Checkmate” (2016). Her most recent single was funded by FACTOR and has achieved Canada-wide radio airplay on CBC Radio One.

She has showcased at Indie Week Canada the last 3 years and has performed on popular Toronto stages like the Rivoli, Mod Club and Metro Toronto Conventions Centre.

Last year was an eventful year for Michelle:

  • February-March 2017: Performed as the leading lady “Nancy” in the professional Equity production of Oliver the Musical (Capitol NB).

  • June 2017: Auditioned & was chosen to perform “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston for legendary music producer David Foster at an award ceremony in Victoria, British Columbia.

  • October 2017: Was hired to write a song for an individual helped by The United Way,  and performed the song at the “Songs of the City” Concert at the Capitol Theatre Moncton, accompanied by Les Païens.

  • Michelle began recording her Debut Pop Album at Oak Recording Studio with producer Gord Richards – to be released this fall!
